Get out of my head!

There is this woman that I keep seeing in my travels around town. She's actually kinda hard to miss.

She's got this jet-black beehive hairdo. She must be at least 60 years old so I'm guessing it's not her real colour and the incredible heights this beehive reaches defies gravity {think Marge Simpson}. She always wears bold coloured/garish caftans and her make up is clown like in it's application and appearance.

This woman fascinates me. How does she get into her car with hair that high? How long does her makeup take? What does she look like without all that crap on? Who in the world lets her out of the house looking like that?

I'm sure she's a very nice woman but wowsa.....I think she took a wrong turn at the Burlesque Parlour.

Have you ever come across someone 'interesting' and you can't get them out of your head or am I borderline stalker material? Is it wrong that once in a while I start thinking about what she's doing, where I might see her next, does she work, is she retired, why in heck no one buys her a mirror and so on. I think I need to find myself a better hobby.

  1. It's like when you buy a new car thinking hardly anyone has this model, then all you see car after car are ones exactly like yours! Oh dear. People I notice round here? No one odd looking but the postman always seems to come when we're not around, maybe something to do with two year old son chasing him up the drive asking for kisses...

  2. I'm pretty sure someone that looks like that would get stuck in anyone's head.

  3. I think your site ate my comment...

Anyway, I said she sounds hard to miss. If you had described an average sounding person and said you see her everywhere and wonder when you'll see her again, I would probably wonder how you even noticed. :-)

  5. I'm laughing because I would do the exact same thing. It's not stalkerish...it's just fascinating. When you described her, Amy Winehouse came to mind...her hair always fascinates me...how do they do that? and more importantly, why????

  6. It's not stalking someone, it's people watching. Well, at least, that's what I tell myself. Lol. Let's see, latest person I "people watched" (ahem) was a lady who comes to the office every couple of month. She talks to herself. LOUDLY. She gets into an argument .... with nobody around her... and then... she leaves.

  7. There is a lady at my gym who is probably closer to 70. She comes in full makeup, bouffant hair and sky-high heels. Not to mention grotesque amounts of perfume. She then changes into a skin-tight leotard with a weight belt and gloves. To walk on the treadmill. I have talked to her a couple of times, and she is super nice, but she cracks me up.

  8. You are not at all weird, I find your concern over her quite endearing.

    That was concern, right?

  9. No it's not stalkerish. What WOULD be stalkerish would be to take a photo of her next time you see her and post it on your blog. Stalkerish but intriguing!

  10. I find someone like that everywhere I go. I have a very vivid imagination, and always think I can read their life story on their faces...

  11. Being the public transit goer that I am...I run into ppl like this all the time! Funniest thing is when I see them outside of the bus I have to stop and think forever about where I could 'know' them from lol. It's very weird...but definitely makes for good entertainment!
