Anybody out there?

Helloooooo? Anyone still around?

I can't believe I've been gone so long. With back to school crazyness, my birthday, my wedding anniversary, Little J starting kindergarten and getting the new truck engine built and in the 'Burbon, life has been pretty hectic.

I am currently in the middle of a 2 day hangover from hell. I got my drink on hot tubbin at girls night at my boss' house. I keep forgetting that I'm 39 not 29 and I don't bounce back as quick as I used to. On the bright side, putting a hot tub soaked pack of smokes in the oven on the lowest setting for 15mins dries them out like new. :)

Little J started kindergarten. It's not going to well. I don't like his teacher and I'm sure she feels the same about me and the kid. I know that he has the attention span of a fruit fly and can't sit still but come on, he's 5 years old! Cranky old battle-ax is what she is. It's going to be a long year. :(
OK honestly, I am more worried than I let on but I'm not convinced I'm not overly paranoid. Ya know? Everyone wants to their child to show in a good light and I'm no different. What if I've messed him up and didn't do enough to prepare him for school?
*sigh* I'll wait a few weeks to see if there is improvement before I I really start to worry.

So hopefully you will see more of me stopping by and commenting on your Blogs and getting back into the swing of things!

I've missed you all. Not in a creepy stalker kinda way but in a "hey I wonder.." kinda way. ;)

cheers!

  1. welcome back! I'm feeling you on the whole school thing. My little one started preschool and so far he is NOT liking it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed it will get better quick!! Hope Little J and his teacher can play nice. :)

  3. Seriously, how much preparation for kindergarten is supposed to go on? It is KINDERGARTEN for crying out loud. Isn't it the preparation for school? Sort of the buffer grade where they still take naps and mostly play all day?

  4. Yay....You're back!

Mean teachers suck. Ms. Whitford was a first grade teacher at my elementary school. I was scared sh*tless of her... She had this severe salt/pepper hair that helped convince me that her real identity involved being the villain in a Disney fairy tale.

Twenty eight years later and I still remember that mean woman.... and she wasn't even MY teacher. Talk about a legacy of screwing kids up. I think SOME teachers (not ALL, so don't be offended if you're a teacher reading this) do a better job of that than any parent ever could...

  5. I hated Riley's Kindergarten teacher...hopefully things improve...do you know any other parents of the kids in his class...it's helpful to ask around (if at all possible).

I'm glad you got your groove on...but I'm sorry the hangover was so BAD...been there!

I've been keeping up with you on FB but I miss your comments on my blog!

  7. Ugh. The Hubz and I had like a week long hangover from a huge night out a few weeks ago.

Hubz: So THAT"S what $250 of alcohol feels like.
